The care pathway for international patients under COVID-19

Although the precautionary sanitary measures in place within C3Medical’s partner hospitals differ slightly from each other, they all have one objective in common: offer the best care pathway under the best health safety conditions and to do everything possible to save lives.

Video-consultation is a priority :
Our partner hospitals all provide a video-consultation service which existed even before the sanitary crisis. This method of communication avoids the patient having to travel to appointments, maintains the link between the doctor and his patient and improves diagnostics up front before recommending a care pathway.

An emergency procedure for certain critical cases :
In case an emergency situation arises, notably for sensitive patients (children, young adults, etc.) we provide support for the families or the insurance companies by providing the most recent medical information required, forwarded as soon as we receive it, by proposing the appropriate care pathway and by providing the necessary documents to obtain waiver (in exceptional cases) from local consulates to allow travel, if commercial flights are possible or through a special medical flight if the borders remain closed.

Safety regulations :
C3Medical teams take particular care to ensure the comfort and safety of the patients during their journey: COVID-19 screening before departure - if not required by the airline, social distancing and systematic testing upon arrival in France.

For certain hospitals it is mandatory to be tested before admission, for others screening will take place if the doctor decides it is necessary once a questionnaire and a short examination have been completed.

All hospitals have implemented strict precautionary health and safety measures for their admissions: social distancing, supply of a mask and hand sanitizing gel wash. As is usual, C3Medical teams will be present at the patient’s request throughout the admission procedure.

For each admission, an email is sent to each patient by the C3Medical teams and also available in the BestCare patient care pathway platform, to notify of the procedures, the patient circuit, and the visitation and accompaniment regulations.

For C3Medical coordination means accompaniment, as, in these current circumstances, our teams play an even greater part in liaising between the medical teams and the patients to ensure the patients do not feel isolated, and remain available 24/7 by phone or email to inform and reassure.
