The starting point of potentially receiving a patient in France, is a “2nd opinion” decision made by a team of qualified specialists who will decide if there is any benefit for the patient to be treated in France. 

This honest and transparent decision, bearing the names of the doctors, is key : C3Medical always respects the decision and will never contradict it. 

If it is positive, C3Medical will make sure the patient receives a detailed proposal in less than 5 days – if no further medical information is needed or in the case of a cancer (see below RCP explanation).  

The final decision is taken by a team of the best specialists, based on careful examination of the patient's medical records and, when feasible, in close collaboration with his doctor or his hospital. 

This decision is never taken by one single specialist alone.

In the field of cancer, this decision making process is very strict and formal, regulated by law, to ensure maximum quality for the patient. It often takes a little longer (except for eye cancer, where there is an emergency procedure of a few hours, given the rapidity of evolution of this illness). 

This is because the decision must be taken during a formal meeting called “RCP” (“Réunion de Concertation Pluridisciplinaire” / “Multidisciplinary Decision Meeting”) which usually takes place once a week, in each French cancer hospital.

In case of insufficient elements to make a decision, additional examinations may be requested and prescribed, to be carried out locally or in France.

On the basis of this complete file, the specialist (s) consulted by C3Medical builds the most appropriate care path, favoring a long-lasting and, if possible, rapid recovery aimed at maximizing the patient's comfort and of those around him.

This detailed course of care and a complete quotation, detailing all medical and logistical aspects, is submitted to you for approval, within a maximum of 48 hours after medical conclusions.
  
Note: For cancers, the process in France is strictly regulated by law: it is mandatory to hold a "RCP".

The RCP, Réunion de Concertation Plurisdisciplinaire" or  - "Multidisciplinary Consultation Meeting" in English -, must include at least 3 duly authorized cancer specialists: usually a doctor oncologist, a radiotherapist and a surgeon. The goal of the RCP is to make the choice of a complex cancer control protocol in a  common decision to choose the treatment with the best healing potential.

For these cases - except those where oncological care is imperative in urgency (e.g. ophthalmic cancers) -, the deadline for submitting the detailed report of the RCP may be up to one week, thereby increasing the delay for delivery of the final care path proposal and its associated quotation.
 

ACCOMPANIMENT OF THE PATIENT AND KEEPING YOU INFORMED 24-7

A C3Medical Care Manager welcomes your patient and his relative upon arrival at the appropriate French airport, in most case Paris Charles de Gaulle or Paris Orly airports.

From this moment until the end of his care journey, on returning to the airport, the various C3Medical teams work to make the course of treatment and the stay in France as efficient and as comfortable as possible (see “Patient Path”). 

In the case of a sanitary evacuation, which is a more complex process requiring specific preparation and assistance, a C3Medical doctor specialized in sanitary evacuation and emergency care, is directly in charge, supported if necessary by a qualified team of nurses and paramedics.   

At first, he will go to where the patient is - for example, to his home or to the hospital -, to supervise the paramedics and the preparation before the flight. 

During the flight - either on a regular flight or in a medicalized private jet -, the C3Medical doctor, equiped with the latest monitoring and emergency devices, will keep a constant eye on his patient and his well-being. If the situation arises, he will be able to provide any medication or emergency assistance necessary.

His mission is not finished on arrival in Paris-Le Bourget - Paris airport dedicated for private jets - or any alternative French airport or aerodrome: he will continue to supervise the transfer, by ambulance or helicopter, right to the hospital where he will brief the medical team with the latest details they need to know.  

In parallel, thanks to the digital platform MGPS Best Care accessible 24/7 via mobile, the specialized C3Medical teams will set up the various appointments with the specialists.

Detailed information is available instantly : you and the local doctor will be able to constantly follow the progression of the care path through this web based application.

At the end of the care path, your patient and his family are escorted back to the airport: all the elements of his medical file are then handed over.
